Ecosystem Mapping Framework for Youth Mental Health
This WP formed the analytical foundation of the entire project. The partnership carried out a structured research and consultation process to understand how young people, youth workers and educators were affected by public health crises and natural disasters.
Key activities included:
- Conducting focus groups and interviews with youth, youth workers and educators in four partner countries
- Carrying out desk research on national mental-health policies, training gaps and emergency-response practices
- Mapping the existing support ecosystem, including service providers, training institutions and community actors
- Identifying critical gaps, unmet needs and the competencies required in youth work during crisis situations
The resulting Mapping Report guided the design of all training materials and digital tools developed later in the project.
YouHEALTH Training Curriculum and Content
Based on the findings from WP2, the consortium designed a complete training programme to strengthen the mental-health preparedness skills of youth workers and trainers.
Activities included:
- Defining a competence model focusing on resilience-building, mental-health literacy and crisis communication
- Developing structured training modules, including lesson plans, exercises and case studies
- Creating practical scenarios and tools to simulate real-life emergency contexts
- Preparing guidelines for trainers to facilitate learning in both physical and digital environments
The curriculum aimed to improve youth workers’ confidence and capacity to support young people during and after crises.
Digital Learning Tools and E-Learning Platform
This WP translated all training content into accessible digital formats and made them available through an interactive online platform.
Main activities:
- Designing the e-learning architecture, user interface and navigation structure
- Producing digital learning materials, including videos, interactive tasks, quizzes and downloadable resources
- Uploading all modules to the platform and ensuring accessibility across devices
- Implementing pilot testing in each partner country with youth workers and young people
- Collecting structured feedback to improve functionality, clarity and user engagement
The platform served as a central hub for learning, testing and sharing knowledge.
Youth Mental Health Support Toolkit
This WP focused on producing a practical toolkit to help youth organisations integrate mental-health support into their regular programmes.
Activities included:
- Developing step-by-step guidance for youth workers on addressing mental-health challenges
- Creating templates, checklists and ready-to-use tools for crisis response, communication and youth engagement
- Providing examples of good practices and real cases gathered during the project
- Validating the toolkit through consultations with experts and field practitioners
- Preparing a final version suitable for long-term use by centres, NGOs and training organisations across Europe
The toolkit ensured that project outcomes remained usable beyond the lifetime of the project.
